• Compose pastiche in a stylistically aware manner.
• transcribe a piece of music on to the notation programme Sibelius.
• analyse 20th and 21st century scores from a compositional perspective.
• construct a consistent composition in 20th century musical language of 2-3 minutes duration.
• demonstrate basic sight-singing, rhythmic and music dictation skills

• Continuous assessment marks are carried forward to the autumn. Dissertations-theses, recitals and composition-music technology portfolios presented for the first time in the Autumn Supplemental Examination Session will be capped at 40% in the absence of fully proven mitigating circumstances.
