Description of many particle systems with interactions, using second quantization. Treatment of weakly interacting electrons. Response to external fields (conductivity). Models for the transition between conducting and insulating systems, notably Hubbard models. Introduction to superconductivity. Theory of ferromagnets and antiferromagnets, including spin waves. Overview of modern experimental techniques.
