• Interpret the evidence for cosmological expansion
• Calculate the dynamics of the Universe at cosmological scales using different equations of state in the Friedmann equations
• Give an overview of the Big Bang theory of cosmological evolution and nucleosynthesis
• Describe the physics of the early Universe and the transition out of the Dark Ages
• Explain observational diagnostics of the high redshift universe including the Lyman-alpha forest and high redshift quasarsModelling the formation of structure in the Universe
• Model the formation of structure in the Universe
