Having developed a literature review and having selected an appropriate research design, the next step in the development of a PhD project is the selection and execution of appropriate research methods. In conjunction with MN811 - Qualitative Methods in Business and Management Research, this module will enable students to make an informed selection of appropriate research methods for their project.

This module introduces students to fundamentals of quantitative research methods and discusses different methods of collecting and analysing quantitative data. Students will develop an understanding of how to identify appropriate quantitative methodologies for answering their research questions. The module will cover a variety of quantitative methods, with examples of how these are used in research projects. Students will discuss the underlying assumptions and contextual appropriateness of different quantitative research methods as well as the interpretation of results.
