Communicating research outputs to the relevant academic and professional communities is an essential part of the research process. Building upon MN801 and MN802 this module supports PhD students in developing strategies to communicate their research to academic and professional communities. Supervisors assist students in identifying suitable academic outlets and offering them guidance in the process of preparing research outputs for submission to these outlets. Supervisors offer students insights into preparing for, and managing, the process of submission, including the insights into managing the process of interacting with editorial and peer reviews.
The expectation of this module is that the student will, as part of this process, write an article that deploys their research question framing, literature review, research design, analysis, and discussion capabilities developed in earlier modules and throughout their studies. This paper ought to be capable of, or demonstrated as, being of international peer reviewed journal quality. The paper will be required to have been subjected to international peer review and the student to have developed and implemented a strategy to effectively respond to these reviews.
