Continuous Assessment detail(s): The document should include the following elements.
1. A full account of the process used to isolate a conference for presentation or a peer-reviewed journal for publication of the research in development. The report should also include all details of the outcome of the peer-review process and the steps which the student has taken in addressing these where appropriate.
2. Complete drafts of the full conference paper (minimum 4,000 words not including references) or the paper submitted for peer review (minimum 4,000 words not including references).
3. Evidence of acceptance of the paper at a peer reviewed conference or in a peer reviewed journal.
To pass it will normally be a requirement that a paper has been accepted. In exceptional circumstances the panel may, taking account of the quality of the submission, the standard of the conference, and the steps the student has taken to address peer-review feedback (including a substantial redraft of the paper) consider passing the student where they are satisfied the paper has reached publishable standard.
Assessment will be conducted at Stage 3 of the School of Business and Law Structured progress review which normally takes place within 24 calendar months into the (full-time) students registration for doctoral studies. The assessment is by written document and panel interview, and is chaired by the Head of School or designate and two other academic panel members.
The assessment for this module will be graded Pass, Distinction or Did Not Complete.
