Module code: MN215
Credits: 5
Semester: 1
Department: BUSINESS
International: Yes
Overview Overview

This is a foundation module in International Business, designed to provide you with comprehensive knowledge about key aspects of international business. The module is broadly divided into three main themes: 1) International Business Theory, 2) The Institutional Environment of International Business, and 3) The Complexities of International Business. This module focuses on key theories of international trade, foreign direct investment and internationalisation, entry into foreign markets and the decisions that international firms face amidst the challenges of a complex institutional environment. The applicability of theoretical concepts in different international environments is explored during the module with the aim of appreciating differences across the legal, political and cultural environments, ethical decision making, and working in challenging markets. Businesses operate in an increasingly globalised environment and most business graduates will seek careers that will involve working and managing in international environments; the skills acquired in this module will be relevant in real life situations.
