This module offers students the opportunity to integrate their academic study with the action learning experience of work placement. Placement seeks to bring the concepts, tools and competencies developed on the MSc programme into the realities of work place implementation. Students develop an understanding of the professional and practical competencies and skills required by employers. During the placement period, students will both apply their knowledge from the programme to, and gain new insights into, the practicalities of work life. This learning is supported in this module by taught classes, in-group discussions and exercises which are designed to promote students’ self-reflection on the relationships between theories and competencies central to career development, career self-management, and their work placement. Students are encouraged to critically analyse their own career capital and their career management strategies & priorities.
