Module INNOVATION

Module code: MI6218
Credits: 5
Semester: 1
Department: BUSINESS
International: No
Overview Overview

During the past decades established companies have been increasingly challenged by entrepreneurial companies through the commercialisation of new technologies as well as through the design of new, innovative business models. Against this background, this module enables students to form their critical judgements about the specific advantages and challenges entrepreneurial as well as incumbent companies face in their innovation activities. Moreover, students will elaborate on how entrepreneurial companies as well as incumbents can discover innovation opportunities, capture value based on their innovation activities, and become leaders of technological change. In doing so, students apply the concepts, tools, and frameworks discussed in this module to real-world innovation challenges and reflect on how companies can advance their innovation activities.
