This module is designed for graduates who may not be familiar with foundational material in this subject area. A fundamental objective of the programme is to develop participants general understanding of the material and to move beyond it to:

a) Explore advanced content and
b) Understand the process and practice of applying their knowledge to specific contexts.

Learners will gain an understanding of human behaviour at the level of the workplace. Key theories from social psychology, sociology, and organisational studies will be employed to develop understandings of the complexity of relationship on organisational performance. Reference will be made to organisational theory and how the environment influences organisational structure and individual performance. Learners will study the role of individual personality traits, attitudes and motivations as well as the fundamentals of team work. The role of the organisation in society and its place as a corporate citizen will also be examined.
