The focus is on international managers, the decisions they face in the multinational firm and the choices they face in overcoming various challenges. Students will analyse issues from the perspective of the international manager in order to prepare them for a career in an international environment. Classes will be structured on active discussion, application of theory and practice through in-class activities, experiential learning and analysis of real-life scenarios. This course begins by setting the context for the multinational firm. Various theoretical frameworks will be introduced, and students will analyse them by comparing different stakeholder perspectives and the implications of different decisions facing the international manager. Finally, students will engage the knowledge they have acquired throughout the module by experiencing, first-hand, the challenges faced by international managers in the multinational firm.
