On successful completion of the module, students should be able to:

Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the fundamental areas of legal study sufficient to immediately enter professional training, in Ireland and France.

Demonstrate a broad skill base in terms of presentation, reasoning and analytical skills which is attractive to employers.

Critically assess theories, concepts and methodological approaches relevant to all aspects of contemporary legal inquiry in Europe.

Critically evaluate law and policy in Ireland and France, from an informed international perspective.

Demonstrate research skills for applied use in the field of law, and in social research more generally.
