Firstly, the module introduces environmental governance and law, focussing largely on international elements. This encompasses the fundamental underpinnings, including objectives, principles and core frameworks.
Secondly, it introduces some of the core links between environmental matters, trade and business. Within international law, these are exemplified by WTO law including the Agreement on Agriculture and TRIPS, as well as Free Trade Agreements and for instance, exportation of norms through considering level playing fields.
Finally, the module will focus on the role of business and corporations - considering issues such as monocultures and seed banks; GMOs; CSR and self-regulation.
This content module is subject to change depending on key developments occurring internationally or within the EU.
