This module gives students the opportunity to explore in detail legal and regulatory aspects of capital markets law. In light of the highly regulated nature of the capital markets (particularly within the European Union), this module will focuses on the regulatory framework in place within the European Union to regulate the capital markets sector. It will also address transactional and legal aspects of the capital markets, considering the nature and defining features of bonds, derivatives and securitisations as well as equity issuances. In each case, this module will consider how these instruments are issued, held and traded.
Any aspect of this module may be changed in any given academic year, subject to the discretion of the module lecturer.
