This module provides an introduction to key concepts of mediation and negotiation with a view to becoming familiar with those processes in practice and the differences between them. Students will develop personal skills for resolving disputes and gain experience in the practical use of these skills as efficient and cost-effective alternatives to litigation. One of the central aims of this course is to facilitate students in the discovery of their own style and approach to mediation and negotiation in a variety of legal situations.

Any aspect of this module may be changed in any given academic year, subject to the discretion of the module lecturer.
