On successful completion of the module, students should be able to:

• Identify the key principles relating to the formation of a contract and recount the circumstances when a bargain will be enforceable.
• Write on key elements of the doctrine of consideration, formation of contracts, formal requirements and contractual interpretation.
• Examine the enforceability of a bargain in a given factual matrix.
• Evaluate the case law in a particular area of contracts and draw conclusions as to its effectiveness and fairness.
• Define public policy.
• Evaluate the import and role of public policy in the failure of contract.
• Write an essay and carry out independent legal research.
