This module seeks to provide an introduction to Irish constitutional law. It examines: theoretical aspects of constitutional law, the doctrine of separation of powers, focusing on the roles and functions of the legislature, judiciary, and executive organs of the State, and the principles governing constitutional litigation, interpretation, and amendment. Any aspect of this module (including the weighting of the module mark’s components between continuous assessment and University scheduled written examination) may be changed in any given academic year, subject to the discretion of the module lecturer.
