	Overview
	In this module, students who have completed LS6, or who have studied Irish to a sufficient level before coming to university, will further develop their skills in the Irish language. They will proceed through grammatical study and graded reading towards proficiency in writing and speaking the language. The grammar, vocabulary and syntax of the language will be studied with a view to helping students realise a greater degree of competency. The content will consist of topics drawn from everyday life with a view to help the student build a practical competence in the language.

	Learning Outcomes
	On successful completion of the module, students should be able to: Recognize a wide range of Irish vocabulary. Demonstrate proficiency in the spoken language. Demonstrate an ability to read graded Irish passages. Demonstrate the ability to compose material in Irish.
