On completion of this module, participants should be capable of contributing to the planning and implementation of the mediation/negotiation processes within an international peacebuilding environment. The course aims to develop the participantsí ability to negotiate for themselves and use dialogue and mediation processes, in helping other parties prevent, manage and resolve conflicts. The practical part of the course (simulation) provides an opportunity to apply and put into practise the theoretical knowledge and relate it to a relevant international peace building simulated scenario. This module also explores the application of mediation, negotiation and dialogue in conflict themes such as Crisis Management, Freedom of Movement, dealing with Human Rights and Gender Issues, and Multilateral working between IGOs, NGOs and high-level representatives of the host country.
