This module aims to develop participants' awareness and critical analysis of psycho-social factors which impact on their own development and that of their own society. Throughout the module participants will explore human development from both a modern and an indigenous perspective; Critically reflect on theories and concepts of human development and how they relate to participants' work as development practitioners; Reflect on the relevance of interpersonal relationships and communication skills and how these impact on the empowerment of individuals; Develop their own self-awareness and ability to enhance their own empowerment and interpersonal skills. This module is highly participatory in nature, focusing in depth on relationship building skills, assertiveness and self awareness. Please note that this module is available in a classroom setting only and is not currently offered online.
