The module will provide an introduction to, and a foundation in, the key concepts, theories, issues and debates pertinent to the discipline of strategic studies. Students will engage with a series of topics that are critical to an understanding of the contemporary security environment, in addition to addressing issues relating to contemporary Irish and European security policy. The module will bring together the theory and practice of security in a format designed to be accessible to those without any detailed prior knowledge of the subject.
