The module should provide students with an understanding of the role of records, both within the originating agencies and in society as a whole; it should provide an appreciation of the importance of records in the context of business activities, evidence and accountability; it should provide the knowledge and skills necessary to develop and implement effective records management projects within organisations of varying sizes and complexities; it should explore ethical issues affecting records managers in the context of increasing demands for accountability and transparency, and issues around privacy and individual rights.
