This module aims to enable the student to identify the main classes of records (public, private and institutional) created in Ireland from the medieval period onwards, to understand the background to the creation, preservation and current management of those records, and to interpret them in a scholarly way. It is a particular aim of this module that students will come to appreciate records as evidence for legal and moral accountability, and of value in terms of culture and history. |
