The module will provide an introduction to the study of war, including alternative theories as to the causes of war, traditional and contemporary strategic theories and military doctrine, and an examination of the impact of economic, political, and societal factors on war. In addition to this, a number of wars, campaigns and battles will be examined in detail in order to understand the key factors in the development of the theory and practice of war. |
