• • Understand the most important historical processes and actors in Yugoslavia’s lifetime
• • Have a good understanding of the key debates and controversies in the study of Yugoslav history
• • Understand the Balkan and European contexts of Yugoslav history.
• • Understand the roles played by dictatorship, fascism, state socialism, in Yugoslavia’s history

• 24 contact hours or equivalent (lectures, seminars, field trips, etc.)

• Module Graded (numeric value) or Ungraded (Pass/Not Passed): Graded
• Continuous Assessment detail(s): Total Marks 100%. 5,000 word essay or shorter essay combined with class assignments/tests; Essay to be submitted by Monday prior to commencement of end-of-semester examinations.

• Pass standard: 40%
• Could the result of this module be capped? No
• There is an attendance condition attached to this module. A student must attend a minimum of 50% of the module lectures. If this condition is not met the module result is capped at a maximum of 35%.
• Penalties: No late material accepted unless medical or other compelling reasons are established in writing. The expectation is for full attendance by students.

• Are supplemental/resit registrations permitted? Yes
• For autumn resit, the module attendance condition still applies. A student must attend a minimum of 50% of the module lectures. If this condition is not met the module result is capped at a maximum of 35%. The essay/project component only may be submitted. There will be no re-submission of other continuous assessment components. Marks received during the semester in respect of in-class tests, presentations etc., will be carried over. Essays/projects for autumn supplemental must be submitted by 1 August and will be capped at 40%.
