	Overview
	This module will introduce a number of thematic fields within the discipline of history and explore intellectual and practical questions that arise within them. In particular, it will focus on the practice of history across the research process, by exploring how historians select and employ primary sources; define research questions; make arguments; and engage with wider historical debates. By examining works of academic history alongside public history programming, this module encourages students to think critically about how history is made, not just by professional historians but in the wider culture also.

Assessment

	Autumn Supplementals/Resits
	60-minute written examination. There will be no repeat of continuous assessment components. Marks awarded during the semester in respect of continuous assessment assignments will be carried over. University scheduled written examination (Autumn): 60 minutes
