This module will require a student to undertake the collection and analysis of raw data in either a field or laboratory situation. Students will develop key skills in developing and preparing fieldwork, undertaking primary data collection and developing analytical techniques for assessing collected data. Students will be required to prepare health and safety statements and to clear ethical approval with responsible authorities when appropriate, in addition to developing suitable research methods, for each site or experiment prior to undertaking field work or laboratory work.
