The operation of landscape forming processes is examined in order to understand the evolution of the Irish landscape. The module commences with the geological evolution of Ireland and a description of the different geomorphic regions. The role of fluvial, karst, glacial and coastal processes mainly during the Tertiary and the Quaternary which modified the original rock skeleton are emphasised. |
