This module will showcase the ways and means of mapping data-intensive methods in the context of qualitative research, demonstrating the relative conceptual weight of ideas and emotions from sources that have long resisted traditional forms of statistical analysis. Digital Methodologies have the ability to offer evidence that supports or challenges long standing generalisations. These techniques do not seek to replace or supersede more traditional humanities research methods but rather to provide a larger context for interpretations and controversies. The module will also include a hands-on component. Indicative methods may include data mining, data modelling, text encoding, and/or data visualisation
