This module aims to explore concepts of language and culture by analysing in their function for subjective mental development, first in their own right, and then in their interplay. On this basis, theories of blending spaces and the development of intercultural third places will be developed. Finally, different models of intercultural competence will be analysed with regard to their relevance for foreign language learning/teaching.
