This course offers an introduction to the study of German literature based on a variety of twentieth-century texts belonging to different genres. Students will be exposed to the formal properties of the texts will learn how to relate the literary product to the historical context which produced it.

**This 5-ECTS credit module may be used as part of the 15-ECTS credits in the study of literature (including drama, poetry, fiction, film studies etc.) required for accreditation by the Teaching Council of Ireland. All applications submitted for Teaching Council accreditation are, however, subject to the Teaching Council’s internal evaluation processes.
