On successful completion of the module, students should be able to:

• To prepare a research essay of 15,000 – 20,000 words on a topic agreed with the Department and under the supervision of an assigned member of staff; to demonstrate the ability to discuss scholarly subject matter in French by presenting and defending the Thesis.

• Individual supervision by a member of staff for at least twelve hours over two semesters. Individual research and study.

Research and writing for a research essay of 15,000-20,000 words on a topic agreed with the department under the supervision of an assigned member of staff. The minor thesis is written in French for the French MA and in English for the School MA.
