	Overview
	Study of two French novels (in the original or in translation) portraying issues of social or political conflict between the two world wars in France.

	Learning Outcomes
	On successful completion of the module, students should be able to: demonstrate an awareness of the key terms and issues in the analysis of narrative demonstrate an understanding of the social and political issues represented in fiction between the two World Wars, in particular in the set texts situate the set texts within their literary, social and political contexts
