	Overview
	Written assignments involving short texts of different types between English and French. The chosen texts relate to the theme of translation and conflict and focus on different genres of writing relating to the political conflict in Northern Ireland.

	Learning Outcomes
	On successful completion of the module, students should be able to: understand constraints and strategies at work when translating short texts. link some of the questions addressed in ID 611 to the practice of translating. make connections between the translations and the theme of 'Narratives of Conflict' translate from French texts into English translate from English texts into French
