• Demonstrate awareness of the specificity of Breton culture.
• Recognise and use the basic structures of the modern Breton language.
• Interact orally in a simple manner provided the other person speaks slowly and is prepared to help. To be able to analyse a simple written text in Breton.
• DIscuss the status of the Breton language in France and examine its linkage to other Celtic languages.

• Combination of small group activities, short lectures, practicals and online work.

• Continuous Assessment detail(s): This module is assessed by continuous assessment through the semester, test during semester plus participation in class.

• Pass standard: 40%
• Could the result of this module be capped? No
• Penalties: Late submission of assessed coursework or examination materials will result in a reduction of the original grade by 5% (5 marks) per day. Assessed coursework or examination materials will normally have to be submitted electronically through Turnitin. Late submission of work owing to medical or compelling reasons will not be penalised. The reason must be established in writing prior to, or immediately (i.e. not more than two working days) after the deadline and evidence provided (normally such evidence would be a medical certificate).
