Semester: Year-Long

Overview Overview

This experiential and reflective learning module is designed to offer students the opportunity to put theory into practice, as well as to learn new skills and acquire new knowledge. This module is designed to assist students in translating their first and second year conceptual learning into practical actions during their work placement. Through this, our students develop an understanding of the skills and competencies required by the world of industry. By translating the conceptual insights of the undergraduate modules into a set of actions, and applying them to real problems at work, students will learn and reflect on how to bridge theoretical knowledge and practical competencies.

This module supports the student’s career development, by facilitating students in optimising their first steps into the professional labour market. In doing this, students will enhance their employability through analysing and reflecting how they can best utilize and apply their conceptual and theoretical learnings and experience in a contemporary professional organisation.

This module’s supporting tutorials will the provide students with the background and critical skills required for reflecting on their placement experience, and assist in preparing their placement report. To pass the module, students must have completed their work placement and met the requirements of the placement tutorials.
