The aim of this module is to explore topics in planetary science, climatology, the structure and evolution of the Earth, the solar system and exoplanetary systems.

Module Content:

Atmosphere of the Earth: meteorology, climatology and climate change.

The solar system: origin of the solar system, planet formation, physics of planetary interiors, formation and structure of planetary atmospheres.

Exoplanets: exoplanet detection, planet classes, exoplanet systems, habitable zone.

Physics of the Earth: the Earth as a planet, plate tectonics, seismology and the interior structure of the Earth, the magnetic field of the Earth and paleomagnetism, the gravitational field of the Earth.
