The main aim of this module is to allow the students to develop practical and theoretical skills in instrumentation and computer interfacing through a blend of lectures and practicals.

Topics covered include: sensors and actuators, computer interfacing using LabView, analog-to-digital conversion, digital-to-analog conversion, digital input/output, counters, RS232 standard, scaling, calibration, signal processing, noise, presentation of results, automation of measurement procedures.
