Module code: EE499FZ
Credits: 20
Semester: Year-Long
Department: INTERNATIONAL ENGINEERING COLLEGE
International: No
Overview Overview

To give engineering students an experience of a large-scale design problem, with all the associated administrative, communication and managerial aspects.

Each year the Department Lecturers provide a pool of suitable projects. Final Year Project takes place in the second semester. The list of projects, together with a one page description of each project, is made available to students prior to the start of the second semester. Students are encouraged to approach staff for further information on individual projects.

Students must submit their preference list (with projects ranked in order of preference) within one week from the date that the list of projects is released. Projects are then allocated according to preference, taking into account staff workload and student position in class as determined by their 3rd year class average (excluding IWE).

Students can also propose projects of their own (e.g. connected with their Industrial Work Experience) subject to the approval of the Department Final Year Project committee.
