	Overview
	The Teaching Lab is a weekly micro-teaching assignment for students. It is called a �Lab� to conjure up the idea of an experimental space for student teachers to try out ideas. Working in small teams the Teaching lab process takes students through the planning, delivery and critique of lessons in two cycles while other group members participate in the dual roles of �pupils� and observers. Success in the Teaching Lab is based on the quality of students� critical reflection on the process as demonstrated through a team-based oral presentation. Students build on detailed formative feedback from Cycle 1 to repeat the process in Cycle 2 with a summative assessment.

	On successful completion of the module, students should be able to: Present clear, comprehensive and original analysis of insights gained through the Teaching Lab process Demonstrate evidence of having critically reflected on the challenges faced in the Teaching Lab process, how these were addressed and overcome Identify, evaluate and present key learning moments in relation to teaching, learning and assessment with particular reference to planning, delivery and reflection Support communications with references to relevant literature in the areas of teaching, learning and assessment Demonstrate evidence of team-work Employ advanced communication skills.
