	Overview
	In this module, students undertake an Action Research project, specifically related to an aspect of their practice. This work will be presented as a 20,000-word dissertation and will include the following: Action Research design, Literature Review, Ethical issues associated with Action Research, research participants, sites and appropriate methodologies pertaining to Action Research. Data collection techniques and forms of analysis, presentation of the findings and implications for policy and practice are also key components of the dissertation.

	Learning Outcomes
	On successful completion of the module, students should be able to: Complete an action research dissertation. Conduct an analytical literature review appropriate to the research area under investigation. Document various facets of the research process, articulating appropriate questions/issues, research approaches, sampling strategies, employ the use of primary/secondary data and justify appropriate research methods Present findings, conduct an analysis of same, draw conclusions and provide recommendations. Meet ethical standards required when conducting research in educational settings. Relate research to professional attitudes, beliefs and values with explicit reference to Froebelian principles. Maintain consistent standards of academic presentation.
