	Overview
	The module will consist of an introduction to six of the major world religions, (the Abrahamic faiths; Buddhism, Hinduism, Confucianism; and six of the major Christian denominations (Roman Catholicism; Anglicanism; Presbyterianism; Methodism; Oriental Orthodoxy; and Eastern Orthodoxy); it will consider the efforts of world religions and Christian churches to move towards great mutual understanding; ecumenism and inter-faith dialogue. It will include a consideration of the scriptures of each religion/denomination and of the major feasts of each religion.

	Learning Outcomes
	On successful completion of the module, students should be able to: List six of the world�s major religions and six of the world�s major Christian denominations. Give a general description of each one Describe in some detail one world religion and one christian denomination other than their own. Explain the difference between theist and agnostic religions. Articulate an appreciation of some aspect of each of the religions studied. Have a general familiarity with the scriptures of each of the world religions studied. Speak about some of the major feasts of each world religion.
