The module will explore and highlight the interconnected nature of curriculum, pedagogy and assessment. It will focus on assessment as a social practice and as a tool for feedback and dialogue, emphasising the child’s identity as a competent learner, while making links with Aistear and Síolta. The module will consider modes, models, purposes and outcomes of assessment appropriate to the early childhood setting. Finally, this module will draw together learning from previous years to complete the cycle of planning, implementing and evaluating curriculum.
