• Demonstrate knowledge of the arts and its role in early childhood care and education (birth to six years).
• Support and appraise children’s modes of representation and expression.
• Identify the range of resources and stimuli required to effectively implement arts within the curriculum drawing on theory and linking to National frameworks.
• Draw on community resources to enhance children’s experiences of art and to collaborate with local agencies, arts organisations and artists.
• Implement practices within the curriculum that support children’s engagement with dance, music, movement, drama, literature and visual arts.
• Facilitate, extend and support children’s imaginative engagement through playful exploration and artistic co-creation.
