	Overview
	This module will explore concepts, policies and practices that support children�s well-being, health and safety in ECCE settings. It aims to develop skills, knowledge and understanding of the holistic nature of health and well-being, and will promote safe, healthy, sustainable living within the context of early childhood settings. The module will also examine legislative requirements and initiatives to ensure the protection of children within early childhood settings and the broader community.

	Learning Outcomes
	On successful completion of the module, students should be able to: Outline the theories of the whole-child perspective and analyse its implications for practice. Identify the key concepts and indicators of well-being and health for young children (birth to six years) with reference to National Frameworks. State legislative requirements, policy guidelines, practices and procedures relating to protection in Early Childhood care and education. Demonstrate how children�s emotional well-being can be supported in the context of the ECCE setting with reference to National Frameworks.
