The purpose of this module is to allow postgraduate research students to develop and apply the skills required for presenting their research. This module covers the presentations of results in poster or oral format at a conference as agreed with the departmental supervisory committee. On completion of the module the student will be able to: 1. Discuss the current state-of-the-art relating to their research; 2. Interpret the research in the context of the impact on the particular field; 3. Communicate the research effectively; 4. Respond to questions and engage in discussion with education specialists and wider audiences.
The student should present work at a peer reviewed conference and map the process both prior to submission, through reflective journaling, and critically reflect on the presentation in a form agreed with the supervisor.
