• Utilise the skills required in carrying out investigative research to enhance educational understanding and practice.

• Engage with colleagues in a collaborative process of educational research.
• Understand group process and theory.
• Engage with cultural concepts of ‘conversation’ to enhance learning and collegiality for professional practice.
• Work as a team member in the completion of a joint project.

• Active methodologies used in class e.g. case study, discussion, MOODLE forum etc. On-line sessions will use live forums, group based and individual exercises, on-line readings etc. Additional supports from the Writing Centre at Maynooth University, small group tutorial sessions and a research supervisor for each group.

• Continuous Assessment detail(s): There are three component parts to this assignment. Each part has a specific percentage of allocated credits which when combined will total 100%. They are: Part 1. Team oral presentation of research plans - 2.5 credits (all team members are awarded equal marks) Part 2. 10,000 word collaborative project - 7.5 credits (all team members are awarded equal marks) Part 3. Individual reflection: 2,500 word individual reflection on team research process - 5 credits (individual marks)
