In this module participants will be expected to engage with key concepts, theories, literature and practical understanding of school development and its many facets. Central to this is the cultivation of fruitful and positive relationships which will enhance the community of the school. The role of the leader in these endeavours is critical and central, and this module will give opportunities to participants to consider and engage with a ‘real-life’ learning situation where they are asked to ‘audit’ communication systems in their own school. The management of this process and resultant learning has application for the leadership role in participants’ schools as they begin to engage with colleagues in the completion of leadership tasks and in their future work.
