Semester: Year-Long
Department: EDUCATION

Overview Overview

This module will consider some of the major issues affecting children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing in contemporary culture. The module will also draw attention to the various discourses of wellbeing that exist within educational policy, practice and research; and students will be encouraged to critically examine how these discourses impact the everyday educational experiences of children and educators. Throughout the module we will explore approaches to fostering wellbeing through educational practices, in ways that take account of the plurality of children’s and young people’s experiences, as well as the dynamic, emergent nature of their development.
