Courses / Module

• Hone and develop skills in curriculum planning, subject knowledge, pedagogical content knowledge and related methodologies.
• Teach planned content in an appropriate manner.
• Engage with pupils in order to develop effective, creative and imaginative strategies that promote individual and shared learning.
• Develop collaborative models of planning coherent, differentiated and integrated teaching programmes which are informed by ongoing individual and collaborative reflection on professional practice.
• Develop strategies for the promotion of positive relationships and communicating effectively with pupils, parents, colleagues, the school principal, school management, co-professionals and the wider community.
• Apply knowledge of the individual potential of pupils, dispositions towards learning, varying backgrounds, identities, experiences and learning styles to planning for teaching, learning and assessment.

• School based placement with the support of cooperating teachers and University appointed supervisors.

• Could the result of this module be capped? No
• Penalties: As a professional course, which leads to an internationally recognised teaching qualification, it carries requirements of teaching competence and professional discipline. Any failure to meet requirements in either or both of these two latter categories during the course for the PME will render the student-teacher in question liable to dismissal from the course. Where the failure is of a serious or repeated nature, dismissal from the course will be deemed the appropriate course action. Please consult the relevant year handbook for further details.
